‘This is a vase’ was conceived of in late November following the bomb hoax at the Royal Ontario Museum. It attempts to take the dark subject of bombs and how we identify with them into the realm of wit, and delight. ‘This is a vase’ takes the shape of a cartoon silhouette of a bomb. In place of a fuse, a single flower pierces through the side of the vase.
Yes, the meaning of objects does changes in context. Please use with discretion. After all, getting flowers is often already a surprise.
